Clint Scearce, director of nursing at Life Care Center of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was named Director of Nursing of the Year for Life Care Centers of America’s Mountain States Division on April 20, 2015.
The award was given during Life Care’s annual Directors of Nursing Meeting held at the company’s headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee. It is given to the director of nursing in each of Life Care’s divisions who best demonstrates outstanding qualities in several areas, including customer service ratings, staff development and successful state surveys.
Scearce was selected from among directors of nursing in 30 facilities in Colorado, Hawaii, New Mexico and Wyoming.
During the meeting, Scearce was praised for leading the facility to reach the highest score available in quality measures from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, as well as for mentoring his nursing associates and ensuring uninterrupted quality care during the facility’s extensive renovations.
Scearce has spent his entire nursing career (14 years) at Life Care Center of Cheyenne, starting as a certified nursing assistant and growing in his skills and responsibilities.
“This is a great testament to his commitment and work ethic,” said Caroline Veit, community relations director at Life Care Center of Cheyenne. “His love for Life Care and his residents is proven by his tenure.”
“Clint is a living example of what the honorable nursing profession is all about,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “He administers his God-given talents in a spirit of love and compassion to help make the lives of others better. We’re proud of him and all of our nursing award winners.”
Life Care honored seven other division winners and a Company-wide Director of Nursing of the Year, as well as a customer service winner.
